Virginia Beach is hoping to excite girls about all advanced math, science and technology courses. The picture many of the girls have about technology is very limited. By keeping the choices open it will allow the girls to select course that reflect their individual interests and career goals. It will also show how varied the technology field is. Many students, both male and female, have a very limited, stereotypical view of technology. By showcasing women in technology careers that don’t fall into these stereotypes or working more non-traditional settings will hopefully expand the girls views.
